I'm not bringing sexy anywhere.

So, on the way home from work this evening, the Get Up Kids popped up on my TinyPod. Mass Pike. (hee. I mistyped Pickle, which would be quite a different song indeed.) It was so pleasing.

Which got me thinking (told you: siphoning off excess thoughts here) about how music is temporally linked. For example, the Get Up Kids say to me "Spring of 2002!" And Spring 2002 was good. It was fun, it was carefree. And I started to wonder what songs would scream "Winter 2006-2007"?

And really? There aren't any. I'm in a music slump. I can't find anything new that I want to listen to on a regular basis, and the stuff I've been listening to is wearing thin. This is not a good place to be, as you might imagine, because it leads to madness*.

*Borrowing from mimismartypants and using an asterisk to say that by "madness" I mean "downloading SexyBack or whatever the hell that song is called." I admit it. It's sad but true, also I've made the sad discovery that the only way to remove an earworm from my head is to listen to said earworm.

So. If anyone is out there, reading my fledgling blog, what are you listening to right now?
